General Eligibility Criteria
The Trust was formed to provide assistance to young people whose primary disability is physical.

We are mindful that there are modern interpretations of what constitutes disability per se and what is physical, and the Trustees are continually working to uphold the orginal intent of the Trust founder, Lionel Brierly, and remain relevant and focused on the needs of people in today's world who are considered to have a physical disability, however that may be defined.

Individual grant applicants must be resident in Auckland, Northland or the Eastern Bay of Plenty*.
​
Project or Big Idea funding can be on a national (New Zealand) basis, with a preference for pilot projects to test the effectiveness of a proposal to be held in Auckland, Northland or the Eastern Bay of Plenty.
​
Research funding can be anywhere in New Zealand if there is a strong case for its effectiveness and outcomes to be applicable at least nationally, and preferably globally.

How to Apply
We don't have a set application form. We think that if you are considering applying for a grant or donation you deserve more than to be asked to tick some boxes or be restricted by the amount of supporting or background information you might want to send us.
If you believe you meet the general criteria summarised above, please contact us to discuss how to submit the best individual application or how to approach us to develop a big idea that might have far reaching positive outcomes for physically disabled people.

Make sure you include your name, contact details (email address and a 'phone number), a brief summary of what you would like to apply for, and the name and contact details of anyone you would like to help you or support you with your application (for example a family member, clinical support, school teacher or Principal).
