Grants and Donations
We welcome applications from individuals and organisations who meet our general criteria, and also welcome new ideas, proposals, and exciting avenues of funding that we may not have previously thought about. Think big, talk to us, and let's see what we can achieve!
Individual Grants
Our Grants Committee considers applications from individuals and organisations. These grants are usually for things such as equipment for the home, work, play or learning; lessons; tuition fees; technology devices; travel costs; prosthetic attachments and much more.

The list of things that we fund does not have an end. Please contact us if you are unsure whether what you wish to apply for is something we are likely to support.

Currently each application can be for up to $3,500, with a lifetime limit per applicant of $7,500.

Our Grants Committee meets four times a year to consider these grants.
Projects, Initiatives, Big Ideas
The Trust welcomes new ideas and proposals that we could commit significant funding to over several years, has a high probability of benefitting a large number of physically disabled people and their families, and in turn will help the recipients of the funding contribute to their wider personal and professional environments.

We don't set a dollar limit on the applications, rather invite conversations to explore what level of funding might be required, over what time period, and how far-reaching our financial assistance could be.

Examples might be a training programme for a group of people, the provision of equipment or resources to a group or groups of school children, programmes assisting physically disabled young people transition into a working environment.

Partnering with schools and organisations to help a broad group of the physically disabled community, now and in the future, is a particular aim of the Trust right now.

We encourage big ideas and a big budget to help get projects or ideas off the ground that could benefit physically disabled people across New Zealand.

We invite applications of between $10,000 and $100,000, and welcome an initial conversation to explore your ideas and to work out how best to put a proposal together.

These applications are considered by the full Trustee Board as and when required.
Research
We are very proud to have provided funding to various important studies at the world class Liggins Institute over the past 20 years. We have recently recommitted to some exciting multi-year research there, backing a team of exceptional clinicians and researchers.

We have also just concluded the funding of a research study undertaken by the Donald Beasley Institute.

We invite approaches for research projects of a very high standard (we like to say 'world class') that have a significant chance of making a difference to the physically disabled community across the globe.

This may be through early detection of a disability, clinical treatments or intervention, increasing the awareness of the social implications of physical disability in the World, or any number of things that resonate with our Trust's purpose, our Trustees' upholding of the original intent of the Trust's founder, and the landscape of the 21st century.

Research grants are typically mutli-year commitments from us, and range from around $60,000 to $150,000 per annum.
All such applications are considered by the full Trustee Board as required, and dependent on our commitments to ongoing research programmes.
Scholarships
Each year we invite applications for 3rd/final year tertiary scholarships.

We encourage physically disabled tertiary students approaching their final year of study to apply for one of our $10,000 scholarships, and also invite applications for contributions to first and second year tertiary fees.
We invite applications annually with a close off date of 15 January.
These applications are considered by the Grants Committee in February each year.

Please note: All applications for grants are considered not only on their individual merits, but also having regard for the ability of The Jubilee Trust to pay the dollar amounts applied for. From time to time it is just not possible to approve all applications. We are a Trust that prides itself on being financially prudent and sustainable in perpetuity, and this means being constrained by budgetary requirements that allow us to continue to provide the assistance we do on an annual basis.

We thank you for your understanding of this. As disappointing as it may be, the reality is that there are sometimes situations where our criteria are met but an application may not proceed.

We are a private Charitable Trust and all granting decisions are ours to make and are final.
